The constitutions of India guarantees various rights to human beings and majority of them are fundamental rights. it also guarantees many rights ,particularly to the Prisoners .prison juris prudence recognizes that prisoners should not lose all their rights because of imprisonment. right to speedy trial is a fundamental rights of a Prisoners. it  ensures just, fair and reasonable procedure .the fact that speedy trial is a public interest and it does serve the social purpose .it is in the interest of all concerned that the guilt or innocence of the accused is determined as quickly as possible in any given circumstance. on the other side ,Government and judiciary have to keep watch and take immediate action against Immoral detrimental behaviour of the prison authorities. There are several factors chiefly overcrowded jails and harsh treatment by the jail staff that contribute to acute mental desperation. in many cases, producing the Prisoners in the court, again and again ,is another source of harassment and humiliation
